Black History Month Accolade

Mary Ellen Pleasant was born August 19, 1814, in Augusta, GA.
She was a successful 19th-century African-American entrepreneur, financier, real estate magnate and abolitionist whose life was shrouded in mystery. She identified as “a capitalist by profession” in the 1890 United States census. She died January 4, 1904, in San Francisco, CA with a boatload of accomplishments – And to think she started out as a slave… She is a representation that anything is possible if put your mind to it!!

Technovation

Technovation is a group of female-identifying folks who make an app for cell phones to help the world. We’re starting a new team up this year – come to Ms Klemme’s room 5th block on Tuesday, February 19th for our intro meeting.

This Week’s Schedule

Remember that Thursday is an early release day due to conferences and Sophomore Juries. School will get out at 12:00pm. No lunch is served on early release days. Friday you get to stay home and participate in the first ever PiM e-learning day! Teachers will be in professional development session but they will respond to any questions you have during their scheduled breaks. – Then remember, Monday we will observe Presidents Day and we’ll see you back in the building on the 19th!

Original Works Performance

Hey listen up! Do the original works show. Go to the callboard. Do what you came to pim to do and perform. You will not have a chance to perform at a March No Shame because it doesn’t exist. Don’t wait until the week of the show though because you have to submit your art to new.works@pimartshs.org by midnight of February 24th.

Random Recognition

Random recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of you and your peers. Today we recognize Jay Soulen for constantly working at the top of his intelligence and bring a depth and heart to his characters on stage.

Today’s Lunch
