PiM Arts High School 25-26 Test Overview

Parent Guardian Guide to Statewide Testing and Refusal to Test Form

Fall Testing

ALL Freshmen and Sophomores take the NWEA in Reading and Math to satisfy goals created for our authorizer, University of St. Thomas and for our local QComp plan. Data will be stored and kept by Director of Teaching and Learning. The tests are untimed and take approximately an hour each. We use the data from Fall NWEA testing to determine curricular changes or areas of improvement and to place students in remedial or support courses as necessary. 

NWEA Testing Session runs September 8 – October 3, 2025 

PSAT-NMSQT, Juniors. Registration is due by Friday, September 12th. $18 fee. Score reports will be shared with students and parents in January. 

PSAT is Tuesday, October 14, 2025
Test time: 2 hours 45 minutes 

Winter Testing

Students in 9th and 10th in math classes will take their “spring” subject test in class at the end of the semester. 

NWEA Winter Testing (Math) runs January 5-13, 2026. Spring NWEA scores determine growth and inform our teaching practices and curricular strengths and areas for improvement.

Spring Testing

ACT+Writing – Juniors only. The test cost is $65
Scores will be mailed directly home 3-8 weeks after testing and data kept in Infinite Campus.
-Test is Tuesday, March 10th, 2026
Standard Test length: 3 hours 35 minutes 

PreACT- Sophomores, cost yet to be determined
Scores will be mailed directly home 2-4 weeks and data kept in Infinite Campus.
-Test is Tuesday, March 10th, 2026
Test length: 1 hour 55 minutes 

MCA Tests- Information can be found about MCAs on the MDE website. Results released in July and can be found on the MDE website. Individual Student Results will be mailed home to families prior to first conferences the following school year.
-Sophomores take the MCA Reading test
-Juniors take the MCA Math test
-All students enrolled in Biology will take the Science MCA Test.

MCA Testing Window is March 2 – May 1, 2026
Semester 1 Bio Students, March 4-6- make up day March 9th
Grade 10, Reading- April 6-10 make up day April 13
Grade 11, Math- April 14-18, make up day is April 20
Grade 10 and 11 secondary make up days April 21, 22
Semester 2 Biology Students May 5-7 make up day May 8, 2026
Test is untimed. 

NWEA Spring
Students in 9th and 10th in math classes will take their spring subject test in class at the end of the semester and all students will take their Spring Reading NWEA. Spring NWEA scores determine growth and inform our teaching practices and curricular strengths and areas for improvement. NWEA Spring Testing runs April 27th-May 22nd. 

AP Exams for students enrolled in AP courses, – scores released to AP Coordinator and to students and parents in July.

-May 08 -AP 2D, Drawing, and 3D Art portfolio submission
-May 11 8:00 am – Calculus AB
-May 11 12:00 pm- AP Music Theory
-May 13 8:00 am -AP English Language and Composition
