Black History Month
We’re continuing with a historical person you should know: James Baldwin was a Queer African American essayist, novelist, playwright, and Civil Rights activist. His work explored themes of religion, sexuality, gender roles, and race in America. Considered one of the most prolific commentators on African American life and race in America, writer James Baldwin’s legacy lives on. An aggressive defender of Black life, Baldwin used his literary skill to openly challenge bigotry and homophobia, often speaking truth in the faces of leaders. His most famous novel, “Go Tell It On The Mountain” was on the list of 100 the best English-Language novels of the 20th Century.

Random Recognition
Random recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of you and your peers. Today we recognize an 11th grade Theatre major – Hanna Osmond. Her dedication and leadership truly set her apart. Hanna is fully engaged at PiM, serving in Student Government, as an Ambassador, and contributing her talents to the Fall Play, Competition One Act, State Thespian Officer role, Black Excellence Showcase, the Spring Sketch Comedy Show and of course she is a Voice of PiM. Through it all, she consistently brings positivity, commitment, and leadership, uplifting everyone around her. Hanna, we appreciate your dedication, your engagement and your radiance!
