Plant Sale
DId you sell plants? Bring in your order forms and money no later than Friday, April 7. Turn them in to the office.
Senior Capstone Auditions
Come to the cafeteria after school today or tomorrow to audition for Bridget Foy’s Senior Capstone, “Beyond Our Shores,” an original play by Bridget Foy, set in County Wexford Ireland in the late 1940’s. Call back will be on Thursday, April 6th. You don’t need to prepare anything. Just come ready to do a cold reading.
Prom Tickets
Juniors and Seniors! Tomorrow during lunch the Prom Committee will be selling tickets. They are $80 for a couple and $45 for an individual. Check can be made out to MSSPA. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, April 14th.
NO SHAME
It’s back! You have about seven school days to get a piece submitted. Maybe you did a great end-of-quarter project that you could brush up and polish for a public performance. Get those in! And if you’re interested in performing with the House Band, see Mr. Mollick ASAP.
AP April
Hey all you AP students out there, it is AP April, the month where you buckle down and study for those upcoming AP tests. Be on the lookout for opportunities to meet with your teacher this month to get some extra practice for those tests. Let’s start right now. AP Lit students, come to Ms. Omernik’s room right after announcements to remind yourself of how fun multiple choice questions can be! Yes, come now, during Advisory for test prep.
Detentions
Are you planning to go to Prom? If you have any outstanding detentions you’d better serve them ASAP! You must have ALL of your detentions served no later than 3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 26th to attend Prom on the 29th. Arrive to school between 7:00 and 7:15 am to serve detention with Mr. Mortika. Serve at least 30 minutes in the morning and you’ll get credit for a full hour. Otherwise, serve detention Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays in the assigned detention room from 2:30 to 3:30. If you stay after any day with a teacher for academic support, have the teacher email Ms. Montgomery to have that time count towards outstanding detention hours.
Attendance Update
A heads up that we are resurrecting the portion of Main Street’s attendance policy that says 5 unexcused tardies to a class will equal 1 unexcused absence in that class (in addition to a 1 hour detention). What does this mean for you? It means that it’s even more crucial for you to get to all of your classes on time. As with all unexcused absences, students will not be allowed to make up missed assignments when an absence is unexcused. See Ms. Montgomery with any questions.
Random Recognition
Random recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of you and your peers. Today we recognize Meave Donahue for being an amazing dancer and choreographer and for being encouraging and funny, and Sam Tonjes for being a great choreographer and for being helpful and fun to be around.
